Is Purdice's sterling silver jewellery made in the UK?

We source our 925 sterling silver jewellery from the UK, the European Union and as far away as Australia. A proportion of our silver jewellery comes from the UK but the majority is designed, crafted and made in a host of international destinations.

We do not restrict our jewellery supply to UK only silver jewellery manufacturers for three reasons. The first is that internationally made silver jewellery items are usually of a higher quality than UK made silver jewellery. After all, the UK does not have the illustrious silver jewellery crafting experience of other prominent silver jewellery specialist nations nor do we possess the most talented silver jewellery designers. Secondly, all jewellery sold in the UK must meet stringent Assay Office requirements before receiving a 925 hallmark, regardless of where it was sourced. Finally, by purchasing from abroad we are able to reduce our costs and in turn sell our jewellery at such incredibly low prices.

As mentioned above nearly all silver jewellery we sell must go through stringent testing, pursuant to rigorous laws, at one of the Assay Offices in the UK. It is not until this testing is complete that it can be hallmark stamped. Only the very highest quality items receive the hallmark so you can have full confidence that all of our sterling silver jewellery meets the very highest quality control standards.
